Idaho Second District Federation of Women’s Clubs Meet At Shoshone

The seventh annual Idaho Second District Federation of Women's Clubs met in Shoshone with delegates from across the state. Events included introductions, county reports, a four course luncheon, musical numbers, and presentations by Mrs. J. H. Forney and Miss Marie Irvin. Officers elected for one term were Mrs. F. W. Gooding, president, and Mrs. R. Warner, vice president, with next meeting set for Mountain Home.

Masonic Lodge Instated and Banqueted at Jerome

In Jerome last Wednesday Masons from Shoshone Wendell Gooding and Shoshone formed a lodge and installed officers with Frank T. Disney acting as grand master. About one hundred guests attended a banquet at the North Side Inn, praised for its lavish seven course meal and swift service. Wilbur Massey presided as toastmaster with toasts by Wagner Kartzke Blair and Gilliam. Appreciation was given to Haddock and Williams for assistance in organizing.

Judge Walters Eyes Favorable GOP Outlook in County

Caldwell October 17 Judge Walters arrived from Shoshone and will remain in the city most of the week. He says he is very satisfied with the political outlook from a Republican view and believes county precincts will deliver strong majorities despite town dissatisfaction with the Republican ticket. Walters seeks re election without opposition in his district.

Warners seeks another term as District Judge in Idaho's Fourth Judicial District, the state's largest. He faces no opposition and is praised for indefatigable work, probity, and a proven appellate record. League of Southern Idaho Commercial Clubs Meet

The sixth annual convention of the League of Southern Idaho Commercial Clubs adjourned after two days with 17 of 19 clubs represented. Reilly Atkinson was reelected secretary-treasurer and a key immigration funding proposal was adopted urging a $50,000 annual appropriation for an Idaho Immigration Bureau and nonpolitical operation under the governor. The gathering featured a banquet and talks on irrigation, development, and interstate commerce.
