Women’s Clubs to Meet Here in Annual District Event

The annual meeting of the district women’s clubs is planned with a program of addresses, readings, and music. Officers listed include President I. Al Pillenger, Vice President Mies. O. Wheeler, Secretary Frank B. Kinyon, and Treasurer Herman Hass. Notable members from Boise, Weiser, Caldwell, and surrounding areas will participate in a two day program featuring a luncheon, constitution readings, and reports from standing committees.

Visitors Arrive for First Get Acquainted Day in Town

Wendell and Jevene boosters arrived Friday afternoon and joined with the reception committee and county officials for a welcome program. A parade, speeches, a banquet at the opera house, a stage program, and a grand ball at the theater closed the day as visitors praised the event and looked forward to future meetings.

Fire damages new residence under construction

Fire damaged a new residence built by C W Wernicke after a faulty fireplace flue allowed sparks to ignite between the ceiling and floor above. Firemen extinguished flames but extensive water damage occurred. the chimney is severely damaged and the builder was fortunate the blaze did not spread. The home was insured.

Shoshone Women Study Club Plans Annual Meeting

District Chub Meeting invites delegates to the annual conference and moderation of women clubs. A public reception will follow the officers and delegates meeting at the court house. Representatives from Parma Nampa Caldwell Boise and nearby areas are expected. Mr Johnson of Twin Falls, foreman on Shoshone Falls grade work, met with the board in town Wednesday about extending the grade project.
