Idaho land sale draws crowds in cold drizzle amid private drawing
A massive Idaho land sale drew a diverse crowd from many states despite rain. The drawing, supervised by Senator George A. Day, listed 1796 registrations with long lines at Jerome Wendell area sites. By Wednesday and Thursday, over 56,000 acres were sold as buyers prioritized location near townsites and electric lines. Names of the lucky bidders include Wm. P. Price, Katie Humebus, Fred Evans, Michael Conway, Jerome McMasters, and many others from Idaho, Montana, Utah, and beyond.
