George W. Hedmon returns home from a river hunting party with a 19 point tally from one duck head. The group includes Dr. Felts, Dr. Humphreys, Robinson of Pocatello, and Fisher of Rupert. A larger party, led by Redmen and Harve Stout, plans a mid Salmon river hunt for big game. Snow and tracks indicate abundant game.
Dietrich Highway Commissioners halt road work for a month from September 30 to November 5 1914 to allow Irrigation Co labor in canal and laterals cleaning. Farmers in the Dietrich tract may join for one month or more without losing road employment opportunities. Secretary to run the District office until further orders.
Attorney James R. Bothwell secured victory on two appeals in a long dispute over a desert entry claim. The Halley land office ruling upheld George W. Grant against Arthur Pyle, with Grant’s rights sustained on appeal.
The Lincoln county Democrats fled the Recorder’s office platform condemning the State land board and praising Democratic candidates for Senate and House. An armed robber entered the Sx Howe Banking company on Twelfth South Street in Utah yesterday at 12 30 pm and forced George AL Goff cashier and his brother Clifford J Goff to the vault. He looted three $500 bundles plus other currency and silver, then fled as the Goffs freed themselves after nearly suffocating. The break led to a delayed alarm and the thief escaped with a cash haul valued at 1525 in currency and precious metal.
Manuel Silva relocates a dwelling from north of the north side school to the Andy Olesen lot west of Gem State lumber yard. Eight horses helped swing the building onto wagon wheels as a careful team walked it away. A story ties to the lot where Silva bought the land for 34 cents after a burial fund dispute.
Four thousand boxes of Jonathan Winesap Arkansas Black and Gano apples are being harvested at McFall ranch led by John W. McFall. The owners Matt Mc Fall and Son foresee a limited market, with a single carload destined to Wyoming and larger portions to Hailey Camas Prairie and nearby outlets. John W. McFall also notes onion crops of several tons in a small garden and exhibits a one pound sample at the Meat hotel desk.
