Local and Personal Notes From the Study Club Fund Gala
The dressy event by the Study Club for the Scholarship Loan Fund drew few attendees due to many competing dances within reach by car. Journal staff faced a staged hold up by costumed figures, then continued with Red Cross teas hosted by Mrs. Whitnack, Mrs. Gooding, and others aiding soldiers through knitting. Local social life poured into Halloween parties, visits, and church circle gatherings while residents traveled to Grangeville and Bliss for holidays, and a veiled blend of gossip, travel, and community service filled the week.
