Lumb Estate Divided Between Widow and Son

In a probate action Judge Jones awarded the estate of John Lumb, largely realty, to be divided equally. The will left all to the son with support for the widow, but the law treats the estate as community property, giving the widow her statutory half.

Decoration Day Observance Planned in Shoshone

Tomorrow afternoon Shoshone holds Decoration Day starting at 2 at the high school auditorium with Rev. Lewis giving a short address. Miss Lenora Noble will sing, a 20 girl drill will proceed, then attendees with flowers will visit the cemetery. Old soldiers plan a morning appearance and bearers will join in the afternoon.

Funeral of Eugene Burgess Led by Lincoln Judge in Wentman Ceremony

The first funeral the Lincoln Judge of the Modern Wentman of America attended was for Eugene Burgess. After a Methodist service Rev. Lewis preached, A J McMahon and J A Keefer led rites, and mourners traveled in private automobiles to the Sumter cemetery. Turkeys roam on range until a month before market, then receive grain, and growers report strong profits with several farmers earning over $100 from the season.

Shoshone school trustees at a Tuesday meeting decided to pursue organizing the district as independent. They seek improved school interests, argue local governance better serves education, and plan to petition county commissioners for trustee appointments and coal and janitor services needs.

Idaro Club Women to Meet at Jerome

Several hundred delegates from the second district convention will converge at Jerome for the Idaho federation event. Shoshone visitors will travel by auto, with start times from Monday evening. others follow Tuesday. Delegates are to be quartered at the North Side Inn, a complimentary luncheon is planned at the Pertine ranch on Wednesday, with side trips to Shoshone Falls before departure.

Lincoln County bonds attract bidders at sale

Ten thousand dollars of Lincoln County five percent handy bonds were sold at Wednesday's county commissioners meeting to the Central Savings Bank and Trust Company of Denver. The bonds carried interest at five percent and brought a premium of 122 dollars on the entire issue. A premium of 102 dollars was offered but a 20 dollar printing charge reduced the net premium to 232 dollars. The issue covers a portion of old Lincoln County bonds, with plenty of bidders participating.
