Honors Won for Local Schools in Penmanship Contest
In the penmanship contest among Free Counties Lincoln Gooding and Minidoka held at Gooding Shoshone took top prizes. Florence Turnbull first and Lawrence Gwin second in all chief school classes with Miss Turnbull winning five dollars. Shoshone also won a three dollar prize in the art subjects with Gertrude Luble the winner. Wendell school won a anniversary cup in a separate event. Teachers and school publications praise the year’s work in Shoshone schools noting general advancement and only minor defects in orthography averages.
