The state will offer over 6500 acres for settlement near Bliss at 50 cents per acre plus 10 dollars per acre for water rights. Water supply by Mullins Canal and Reservoir Company ensures irrigation this season. Land lies within eight miles of Bliss on the Oregon Short Line, with many parcels adjoining town plats.
J W Waldron returned from Minidoka after surveying for a pumping plant and canal for J H Lane G L Eveleth and M A Vaughn to irrigate 3200 acres of sage brush land near Sears Ferry. Water will also power mining claims west of Perry. Locators include I A Cammett R M McCollum M A Vaughn J B Lane J W S Emerson Sue Martin F A Eveleth and G L Eveleth. Construction will start when Snake River water subsides with a long feed ditch 80 feet wide and three feet deep. The canal will be about twelve feet wide and three feet deep. Prospecting on the mining claims progresses with good ground uncovered.
The Shoshone village board held an adjourned session on May 20 1902 with all members present. Chairman I. White called the meeting to order, with J. P. among those present.

The Idaho counties show Lincoln County as the wealthiest per person with $487 per capita from a $1,533,604 roll for 1,784 residents. Ada joins second, Nez Perces and Latah are near 243 and 464 per capita respectively, while Bear Lake proves the opposite with about $19.50 per capita. Counties relying on agriculture or mining tend to be poorer, combined agricultural and mining areas the wealthiest.
Miss Jessie Gwin came back Tuesday from a week visit with her aunt Mrs Hugh Bradford at Goodyear.
Harvey E. Taylor, early Thunder Mountain prospector and Gold Ridge mine buyer, passes through Shoshone en route to New York and Philadelphia. He says the district’s potential exceeds claims, migration to Idaho’s new gold fields has begun, and Idaho could rival Cripple Creek or the Black Hills in promise. He notes past success and long involvement, with plans to meet R. M. McCollum.
Mike Ryan one of Idaho's oldest miners, returns from a month at Duncan Town after twenty four years away. He finds many changes but enjoys the trip and plans to resume work in Wood River mines. He toured Thunder Mountain decades ago and claims strong mining prospects remain on Wood River. He recalls his time as an Indian fighter while visiting his old home.
Roy Thatcher, near town gathering horses, and his saddle horse plunged fifteen feet from a lava cliff after a break in the rock. He was unconscious, later revived, and reached town for medical aid. He suffered a deep cut on the left jaw and bruises but is now recovering. Separate note mentions New York workers’ organizations planning a city palace for clubs, echoing Sir Walter Besant’s writings.
