Fire on Rail Street wipes out block in Shoshone
Early Saturday morning a fire destroyed six buildings on Rail Street in Shoshone. Loss estimated around 5000 with fire protection non existent. Properties included Pay saloon, Rose Ennis restaurant and hospital, Emma Davis dwelling, Herman Luthes paint shop, J M Rogers dental parlors, and Stock Growers Mercantile Company warehouse with stock and farm machinery. Many household goods saved by residents but overall insured value for Pay property was about 1100.

A large crowd attended a shadow box social at Odd Fellows hall to benefit the Rebecca lodge of Sho shone. Last Thursday the McFall hotel hosted a joint birthday celebration for Miss Birdie McFall aged fourteen and Mr E Cole. About twenty friends attended in the parlors before moving to the dining room for dancing with Bragga orchestra. A luncheon followed around 11:30 with guests offering many happy returns.

The Thin Falls Will Expend 1 500 000 for Canal and Bridge
J B Perrine reports that the Twin Falls Land and Water company will invest 1.5 million dollars to build a canal and a steel bridge at the Narrows near the Snake River. Construction will enable rapid material transport, create thousands of homes and farms, and bring new residents to Lincoln and Cassia counties. Suspension Bridge Completed at Blue Lakes for Idaho Gold Mining
The suspension bridge built by engineer R. W. Faris at Blue Lakes has been completed and turned over to the company. It carries a large pipe across the Snake River to convey water from the north to placer mines on the south side, aiding operations of the Idaho Gold Mining company.

Elks Head Mount Brings Pride to Idaho Exhibits
W. J. Smith the taxidermist has completed mounting an elk head for L. A. West near Pocatello and will ship it soon. The work is hailed as among the finest in the state. Smith also mounted a two headed seven legged lamb from F. W. Gooding's ranch, now on display.

Died in the County Hospital in Bob McMahon’s House
Charles Raber died Monday morning around 4 oclock in the county hospital at Bob McMahon s house near Horton s livery barn. He was about 85 and died of pneumonia. He had been ill and exposed to cold after being moved from the hospital during a fire, suffering a relapse. Funeral held Monday with remains cared for by O J Brennan undertaker. no relatives identified.

Stiffler Lawson Case Heard in Probate Court Civil Action
The Probate Court heard a civil case last Saturday where Mrs Stiffler sued to evict Lawson from the Stiffer ranch premises. Lawson claimed the lease runs until fall. Stiffler contends it expired in April. Jury members Henry Brown Will Parry Myre Weaver Claude Ferguson Dan Avers and Geo Saviers returned a verdict for the plaintiff. E A Walters approved for plaintiff and Gus C Buroum for defendant.
