Red Cross Entertainment at Bough Friday Night

The second Red Cross entertainment under Mrs. Bert Bowler will be at the Bough Friday night February 22. A Saturday gathering at Hich drew nearly all Richfield tract farmers to discuss labor shortages. Farmers pledged fair wages and avoiding bidding wars while agreeing to neighborly exchange of tasks to ease the labor situation and boost cooperation.

Celebrate Lincoln Birthday at Patriotic Soldiers Meeting

The Patriotic Soldiers met at Mr B F Pesk’s home Tuesday afternoon for a Lincoln birthday luncheon. A cake iced in white with Lincoln’s name adorned the table. Mrs Peak read a paper on Lincoln’s life and letters from soldier sons were read. Mrs Yaden owns two long letters from David and Bud in England. Peak’s letters describe separations with Fred in France and Judge in the Navy at Honolulu. Edwin Grosse is at Bremerton Wash. About eighteen ladies attended. The next meeting will be Tuesday afternoon at Mrs J Potter’s home at two.

Valentine Festivities at Mrs Canada Home

In answer to an invitation from the Mothers Circle thirty eight guests gathered Thursday at Mrs Canada's home. They played games, enjoyed vaudeville, heard Miss Ditlat and Br and Mrs Mitchell provided refreshments. Mrs KM Clements noted a Montreal bound pamphlet titled The Morora of Frans for translation in the Journal. The community thanks neighbors for sympathy extended.
