Accident at New Columbia hotel injures waitress
At six o elock Tuesday morning a revolver discharged by A F Work, here from Sioux City to buy horses, and the bullet tore through a wall at the New Columbia hotel striking waitress Sarah Loritze in the abdomen. The bullet caused only a bruise, as the weapon misfired, and no serious injury occurred.

Just Missed a Good Thing Deputy Sheriff Brown
Deputy Sheriff Brown nearly caught Mr. Walker the colored boy wanted for horse stealing and robbery. He trailed two men toward the Cottonwoods, learning Walker had passed there earlier. If Brown had reached the area a little sooner he would have netted a big reward and aarshalled a suspect with a vague description.

Mr Fritz in Shoshone collected bills for the Jefond Independent. Trustees of Gooding School pursue ground grading and gravelling but cloak and library addition is deferred. Various local residents enjoy a day at the Gooding ranch with apples and melons in season.
