Valuation Set for Land Sought by Hollister at Shoshone Falls

Waho State Lumbermen Elect Officers at Shoshone Meeting

The Waho State Lumbermen's Association held its annual meeting in Shoshone, electing W. H. Ridenbaugh of Boise as president and P. F. W. Wood as secretary and treasurer. Various members from Ko te, Pocatello, Nampa, St. Anthony, Portland, and Shoshone attended as officers were chosen for the year. A.D. Shoshone Incorporation Petition Favored by Town

The petition for the incorporation of Shoshone was allowed and residents are hopeful. The Board of Commissioners has not appointed village officers yet but their eventual appointments should please the town. Citizens are urged to pull together to build a strong community.

New Township Plats Completed at Assessor Office

The new township plats are completed and stored at the assessor's office per the late legislature. Any land ownership changes must be recorded by the assessor, a move costing Lincoln county about $300. The plat will mark patented lands as such when patents are issued, noted by Surveyor Joe Waldron for his credited work.

Notable prelim hearing in Fay case and county salaries

John Fay alias Siefert, who shot in town on the fires of the month, was captured in Kennimerer Wyoming. His preliminary hearing before Judge Fritz resulted in discharge on motion by Prosecuting Attorney Barnum due to insufficient evidence. A wounded county hospital victim, shot by Fay, remains uninsured and funded by taxpayers. The Board of County Commissioners met all week. sheriff’s salary rose by $100 while auditor and recorder’s pay fell by $200. Officers’ reports were approved. A new rail timetable complains of seven branch trains and missed connections on the westbound line, with Oregon Short Line promising improvements for travelers.
