Willow Branch Indiana hosts a large social picnic at Braddock's store grove on August 27 with Mrs Richard H Kinder Leone, Chicago and Bloomington visitors, games of horseshoes and ample meals. Travelers Mr and Mrs Fred Masterson returned from a two week southern trip noting a Texas storm.

Recitals by Willlow Branch and Wilkinson Pupils

Leone Kinder will present a piano recital by her Willow Branch pupils at the East church this Friday evening. Next Tuesday she will feature Wilkinson pupils at the Tian church in Wilkinson at 8. Shirley will give a recital at the Christian church on Friday September 8 p.m. Violin students of Miss Jennette of Pendleton will assist. Public invited.

Dinner honors Harvey Williams before New Mexico trip

Mrs Anna Williams hosted a Sunday dinner in Wilkinson Indiana with Chas Mc Clammer and family Frank Harlan and families from Shirley Miss Nelle Dunn of Mohawk and Miss Frances Yeider. The gathering marked Harvey Williams leaving Monday on the 8 24 car to New Mexico. He may pursue a claim or stay about six months before returning home.

Interment in Mc Cray cemetery. Alfred E son of Carl and Bertha Bettner died at their home near New Castle aged 9 months 27 days. Funeral Wednesday 9 am at residence. Remains were taken to Greensburg Indiana for interment.

Greenfield Men Pay Fine After Shirley Tangle Foot Incident

D C Prickett of Greenfield stepped into the tangle foot on Mrs Bailey's porch in Shirley Sunday night. He was picked up and brought before the justice's court where he paid a fine plus costs totaling 9.80 dollars. His brother from Greenfield settled the fine and they returned to their hometown.

The Markleville Bank hosted its Fourth Annual Melon Feast drawing a record crowd for the day’s events. Arthur C.
