County Administrator W. M Dziewas announces CCC Tree Army Camp applications accepted in Hallettsville. The four day period runs Thursday through Sunday this week and the list opens today with urgent need for applicants to report promptly.
Catholic Parish of Shiner hosts an annual celebration at Bluecher Park on Sunday September 30. A good pork sausage dinner will be served at 11 a m. Admission to table is 25 cents for adults and 15 cents for children. Amusements, refreshments, and music available for all ages.
The Lutheran Ladies Aid postponed the planned Sept 21 ice cream social to Friday night Sept 28 on the church lawn. Lunch will be served, and everyone is invited to come and enjoy.
Miss Melba Welhausen and Miss Mabel Merrem helped organize a Choral Club with Edith Wolters as president Ludmilla Mladenka as vice president Geneva Seim as secretary and treasurer and Wm Wendtland as reporter Thirty six students enrolled and rehearsals are Fridays 10 30 to 11 in the school auditorium A welcome is extended to the community to join the club and benefit from song practices for future school and community programs.
A community dance at Bluecher Park on Wednesday October 10 features Schultz Orchestra playing old time and modern tunes. Admission for gentlemen is 35 cents, for ladies 10 cents.

The annual Rally and Promotion Day Exercises of the Methodist Sunday School will be observed next Sunday morning. A special invitation is extended to all former members and all who are not attending any other Sunday School to attend this service.

St Ludmila s Senior class met on September twenty four to elect officers. Freshmen agreed to an initiation intended to bring a few hours of merriment to all students.

Miss Lorene Gieptner and Theodore Faltisek united in marriage Tuesday morning September 18 at St Cyril and Methodius in Baursville. The bride wore white brocaded taffeta with a long train and illusion veil, carried a shower bouquet of tube roses. Attendants wore lavender, green, pink, yellow and blue, and floor baskets featured heavenly vine. After a ceremony led by Very Rev. L. P. Netardus, a dinner followed at the bride’s home. The couple will reside in Moulton after a brief trip to Galveston and Houston.
