XXth Century Club Meets for Regular Session
The XXth Century Club gathered September 18 with Mrs. Ad Schulze as hostess. A short business meeting preceded social contests by Mrs. Peck Weihausen and Mrs. Mia Wolters and a reading by Mrs. Edeyvar Wolters. A piano trio by Mesdames Heybs Woiters and Thulemeyer delighted members. Members elected were Mrs. Ella Moeckel Mrs. C B Welhausen and Miss Carlyn Trautwein. Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served to numerous members and two guests. The group adjourned to meet Mrs. Striebeck on October 2.

The High School formed a Literary Society on Friday September 19 with Prof. Leslie as chairman. Next Friday Rev Rector arrives for his closing visit of the year at the Methodist Church in Shiner. Preaching is planned Friday and Saturday nights, Sunday night, and Sunday morning at 11. It will be Rev Rector’s farewell services for this conference year with expectations of large congregations.
