The Shiner Hospital Building Fund faces a $63,960 shortfall toward an estimated $305,000 project cost. Finance chair Glade Welhausen notes pledges of $50,687 have been deducted from the target, with much of the rest tied to prior years’ donors and transfers from existing accounts. The article warns that rising building costs may push needs higher and that even funds from memorials and out-of-town gifts won’t easily close the gap.
