School Board Hears Audit Reports and Plans for 1973
Paul Lucas CPA presented the 1972 73 school year audits at the regular board meeting on Wednesday November 14. Campus improvement projects were reported complete or nearing completion and current financial statements were reviewed. The board set a spring date for making up the cancelled in service day November 16 and approved the 1973 74 textbook committee. Self evaluation from the 1972 accreditation team is in process and will be completed soon. Job descriptions for the lunch room and business managers were approved as board policy. The meeting adjourned after a general discussion of current operations.

Funeral services held Tuesday November 20 for Lad die Morisak 57 of Hallettsville who died November 17 1973 at Wilford Hall Hospital San Antonio Burial with full military honors followed in Shiner Catholic Cemetery after a 2 p m service at Shiner Catholic Church Morisak born August 3 1916 in Lavaca County was a retired Air Force staff sergeant with 24 years service He was a member of St Marys Catholic Church and the Hallettsville VFW Survivors include his wife Mary Aline Schilhach Morisak his mother Mrs Antonio Morisak two daughters Bettie Jo Whittenberg of San Marcos Jennifer E Morisak of Victoria and a brother Louis Morisak of Danbury

Hospital Building Fund Reaches $418000 Goal
The Shiner Hospital building fund has reached its $418000 goal, starting from $34.38 in 1970. At a November 15 1973 board meeting Finance Chairman Glade Welhausen was thanked for leading the drive and the board announced his retirement from that post. A new $25000 X ray unit was purchased and donations remain welcome.
