Tom J Krejet retired farmer of Koerth dies at 79. He had lived on Route 4 Hallettsville and died November 7 1973 in Renger Memorial Hospital Hallettsville. Funeral at Koerth Catholic Church with burial in Koerth Catholic Cemetery. He was one of twelve children born December 21 1893 in Lavaca County to Tomas and Katerina Krejci. Survivors include two sons two daughters two brothers two sisters and many grandchildren. His wife Veronica Peters died January 26 1971.

Fort Worth Rites For Chas A Tesar

Charles A. Tesar of 3822 N Terry Fort Worth died about 11:00 a.m. October 31 1973 in a Fort Worth hospital at age 69 1 27. Funeral services were held November 3 at All Saints Catholic Church with Holy Mass. Burial in Mt Olivet Cemetery Fort Worth. He was a retired biological worker and a member of All Saints KJT Lodge and Knights of Columbus. He was born September 4 1904 in Prachatice Austria now Czechoslovakia and came to America in 1906. He married Frances Dusek October 29 1930 in Shiner. Surviving wife three sons six brothers seven grandchildren and numerous relatives attended by area relatives.

Funeral Services Held In Shiner for Louis J. Kubena

Louis J. Kubena of Shiner age 75 7 months 19 days died November 3 1973 at Shiner Hospital after three days of illness. Funeral services were held at Shiner Catholic Church with burial in Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers included grandsons and a nephew. He was born March 14 1898 near Yoakum and married Josephine Balaska in 1919. The family lived in Moulton Hermleigh Kokernot Midway and Shiner. He worked as cemetery caretaker and school bus driver retiring about five years ago after a heart attack. Surviving are his wife two sons and a daughter two brothers a sister five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The Lavaca County Fall Term grand jury at Hallettsville returned five indictments. Frank Garza forgery and passing. Robert North assault with intent to murder and carrying a prohibited weapon. Glen Paul Marek murder with vehicle. Ralph L. Loving and Bill Ray Mica possession of marijuana. Bailiff was Albert McElroy. District Judge B. B. Schraub presided. prosecutors Houston Munson and Terrell Mullins led the case.

Regular School Day In Shiner

School day on Friday November 16 1973 remains a regular day with buses and cafeteria operating. Dismissal will be at 2 40 PM and the previously scheduled in service day and student holiday are canceled and will be rescheduled in the spring possibly around Easter vacation.
