Rites In Moulton Wednesday For Mrs. Minnie Hoyer

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Anna Hoyer were held November 13 1963 at St. Josephs Catholic Church Moulton after a Smith Funeral Home procession. Burial followed in Moulton Catholic Cemetery with ro sary observed prior. She was born March 5 1877 in New Ulm Texas and died November 11 in Shiner at 7 10 p.m. Surviving relatives include a daughter in law Julia Waldrep and husband C J Waldrep of Shiner two grandchildren six great grandchildren and one sister Mrs William Oehl of Moulton. She was predeceased by a son Henry D Hoyer two infants a daughter and her parents. Pallbearers were nephews.

Legion Post Gifts Flags To Trinity Lutheran Home Shiner

The Shiner Post of the American Legion donated two 3x5 foot flags to Trinity Lutheran Home of Shiner. The Christian and U S flags on sturdy bases were valued at 108 50 and placed in the chapel sanctuary beside the altar. Leaders invite visitors to view the flags in the Home’s chapel.

New 1964 Silver Eagle Buses Shiner Display

Continental Trailways will show four new 1964 Silver Eagle buses in Shiner on Saturday November 16. The display runs from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in the downtown Avenue B parking area. The fleet replacing older buses serves Shreveport-Houston to San Antonio with features like rest rooms and air conditioning.

Landowners Take Up Doe Permits in Lavaca County

Game Wardens issued 3778 doe permits to about 500 landowners in Lavaca County after a three day drive in Hallettsville. The antlerless deer season was opened to reduce overpopulation following landowner requests and a study.

Lavaca County joined statewide results by rejecting three of four proposed amendments. Only amendment two, aiding needy aged disabled blind and children, passed locally 697 to 651. Funeral Rites Held for Embry H Reynolds in San Antonio

Embry H Reynolds died after a long illness at a San Antonio hospital on November 8 1963 at age 51 9 months. Funeral services were held November 11 at Porter Loring Chapel with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. He was born January 26 1912 in Oklahoma and lived most of his life in San Antonio. He was married to Eloise Masterson and survived by two sons Harry and Kenneth, a daughter Martha Nell, a brother Eliot Reynolds Rialto California, two sisters Eva Peterson San Antonio and Ray Enos Rooks Shreveport Louisiana, and other relatives. He was a member of Bethany Methodist Church. He and Eloise resided at 4226 Parkwood Drive.

Lavaca County Grand Jury, convened November 4 1963, reported 16 indictments to Judge Boethel including two for malicious mischief one murder four burglaries and two assault with intent to murder. Funeral services for Frank J. Schneider 83 of Sweet Home area were held Wednesday at Buffington Chapel and Queen of Peace Catholic Church. A death by natural causes probably a heart attack was found by Justice of the Peace. Survived by a large family including a daughter Lilian Carter and six sons with many grandchildren. A library fund drive and a flower show display by Mrs. David Hallam were noted alongside local civic notices.

Wharton county resident since 1918 Robert M Labay died at his El Campo home at 308 Mayfield on Wednesday night October 30 he was 81. He was born April 23 1882 in Fayette County and burial followed at Nada Catholic Cemetery with Msgr Julius Petry officiating.
