Four District Court Cases Disposed Monday Morning
Four cases were disposed of as the fall term of district court reconvened to take up the criminal docket. Oliver Lee Scallion and Ellis Glenn Scallion received two year terms for malicious mischief involving damage to two tractors. A. T. Lemons drew two to three years for cattle theft. Paul A Tenberg’s assault to murder charge was reduced to aggravated assault with a $250 fine. Daniel Amador was sentenced to two to three years for passing a forged instrument. Court adjourned for lunch and would resume at 1 p.m.

Funeral Rites Held For Agnes Pesek
Funeral services for Miss Agnes Pesek of Route 4 Hallettsville were held from Kabena Funeral Home and St Marys Catholic Church. Interment was in St Marys Cemetery. She died November 13 at Renger Memorial Hospital at age 67. Survivors include seven brothers and one sister.

Victoria County farmer August Otto, 82, was found shot in the front yard of his Otto Road home near Inez shortly after 11 am Sunday. A 12 gauge shotgun lay beside him. deputies and a justice of the peace investigated as a possible accidental or self defense ending.
