SLA Graduation Honors Class of 19—Diplomas Awarded
St Lud Mila Academy held commencement in the Parish Gym on Sunday May 19. Charlene Kramerbauer was valedictorian, Patsy Vincik salutatorian, with Donald Bujnoch as top male graduate. A scholarships to Catholic colleges were given to all above named students. Honor graduates with an A average included Rose Marie Miculka Louise Valis and Theresa Janak. Joan Dusek received the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Citizenship award in a ceremony led by Henry Fietsam and Father John Hanacek. The speaker for the occasion was to address the graduates.

Porters Lemons and Twins Die in One Car Crash
Porter Lee Lemons 46 and her twin two year old daughters Robbie and Robbie were killed in a one car crash seven miles west of Gonzales Sunday afternoon. The 1962 Mercury left Highway 90A, spun 92 feet, rolled down an embankment and into a creek after striking a bridge. Lemons had been returning to San Antonio after attending a funeral in Oakland and visiting her mother Hannah Wilson Griggs of Hallettsville. Lemons taught in the Hallettsville school district for 28 years and had been re elected to teach sixth grade at Stevens Mayo School. She was noted as a skilled musician who performed on the piano at last week’s graduation.

He and Mrs Peterson joined the charge a year ago and quickly engaged in pastoral visitations and hospital calls.
