Mrs George Nollkamper Dies After Long Illness at 70
Mrs. George C. Nollkamper, a longtime Shiner resident, died May 18 after a lingering illness at age 70. Funeral services were held May 20 at Buffington Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Bownds. She was born April 23, 1884 in Charlottenburg and survived by her husband two sons Eugene and Herbert, three sisters, three brothers and three grandchildren. One son Roscoe L. Nollkamper died in England in 1944 during World War II.

At Thursday night’s meeting the Shiner school board and architect Herbert Kellner awarded the Grade school building contract to Bohlmann of Schulenburg at 113000 dollars after nine bids for the general contract. Electrical work went to Landrun Electrical Company of Austin for 3732 dollars and plumbing and heating to Audrewartha of Austin for 9677 dollars.
