Ed F Wendel age 54 11 months 8 days died May 9 at local hospital after a long illness. Funeral Tuesday 3 30 PM at Shiner Methodist Church with Rev. Froehner. Burial City Cemetery. Survivors include wife mother three sisters three brothers and two children. Many friends attend service despite bad weather.

Katy Drops Idea To Discontinue Two Trains
The Katy railroad abandoned plans to drop two regular passenger trains until at least next year after pressure from towns along the line. La Grange Smithville Sealy urged continued service and cited local revenue gains from patronage. Officials noted each train lost about 40000 dollars annually and had sought a hearing before the Railroad Commission.

Severe lightning hits Moulton causing two homes damaged
A violent electric storm struck near Moulton on Tuesday damaging two houses. The Kasper residence in town had a roof hole and destroyed upstairs windows with ceiling collapse. Freytag’s stucco home south of Moulton was nearly demolished as fire crews early alerted by the Kasper residence found Freytag’s home unoccupied. A two inch rain accompanied the storm.
