Shiner High School Junior-Senior Banquet Highlights
The Shiner High School junior and senior classes plus faculty gathered Saturday night in Bluecher Park pavilion for a well attended banquet. A white and green theme featured white carnations and an elaborate menu prepared by the Junior mothers. Ralph Dreyer presided as toastmaster, Julius Hollmann delivered the senior speech, with speakers from the faculty and several after-dinner talks. The event closed with radio entertainment, games, and dancing, marking a memorable completion to another school year. Irene Kasper won the Martin Medal for English, with Edgar Kram and Erna Kram earning top marks in their respective math grades. Julius Hollmann captured the boys' oratorical contest.

Lutheran Ladies Aid Meeting Reported May 3
The Lutheran Ladies Aid met in regular session on May 3 with about 60 members and several guests present. Rev. Schuetze led devotional services, a new member Mrs. Rudolf Bartosch was welcomed, and Miss Ella Stratman delivered a well rendered reading of Somebody's Mother. Lunch was served in Luther Hall afterward and the next meeting is scheduled for June 7. Rev. Schuetze and family recently motored to Miles.

St Ludmila Junior Senior Banquet Highlights
The St. Ludmila High School annual Junior-Senior Banquet was held Monday night at the Parish Hall with 65 guests. Mother Augustine presided as mistress of ceremonies and keynote speaker praising the largest senior class and the school’s eleven grades and credits. Members of both classes and faculty offered congratulations in Czech and English, with decorations of Nile green and pink and a display of sweet peas.

The last regular St Ludmila P T A meeting for the term was held at the Parish Hall on Monday May 1. A school children's program included songs acrostics and a rhythm drill. Officers were re elected and a sight seeing trip to Austin was planned for May 10. A banco and 42 party was announced for June. Gratifying news is Mrs Treptow’s recovery after an emergency operation.
