Funeral Rites Held Friday for Anton Kusak Sr.

Anton Frank Kusak Sr. 65 died May 1 in a local hospital. Funeral services were held May 4 at 8:45 a.m. Buffington Funeral Home Shiner then a 9:00 a.m. Requiem High Mass at Shiner Catholic Church. Burial in Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Mary and twelve children, plus parents and siblings. Pallbearers listed. he was a devout Catholic and longtime resident.

Come Out See Little Leaguers Play Baseball

The Garbade Lumber Co. team tied Zander's Service Station 3 to 3 after extra innings. Marcak's Auto Supply beat Bar-B-Cue Palace 8 to 7. A large crowd watched the games, and organizers urged attendance every Tuesday at 7 30 p m on the High School athletic field as a double header.

College Capers 1951 in Shiner Thursday Evening

About 50 actors from the Choir of Texas Lutheran College perform the College Capers of 1951 at Shiner High School gym Thursday May 17 at 8 p.m. Admission 50c or 25c. The program offers 15 acts of skits dancing singing and comedy sponsored by United Dr. Martin Luther Church League Groups.

Shiner Game and Fish League Elect Officers and Dine

At Welhausen Dam on Thursday May 3 the Shiner Game and Fish League elected officers by acclamation. Arthur Kasper was re elected president with P H Garbade as vice president and Paul Berckenhoff as secretary treasurer. Directors named for two years include John Cook B R Holchak Joe H Kouba Guy McKay Ed Mueller Max Wolters and Elton Zander. About 400 members and guests enjoyed hot dogs buns coffee and beer, watched films, and heard R E Callender speak on wildlife conservation.

Mrs. A. Wagner Buried At Praha

Mrs. Anton J. Wagner known as Mary Katrina Wagner died April 30 after 34 years of illness at age 56. Funeral services April 30 at Kubena Funeral Home and Praha Catholic Church with burial in Praha Cemetery. Survived by husband two sisters and one brother. Pallbearers included local men.

The County 4-H Dress Revue takes place Saturday May 12 at 4 00 p m in the Parish Hall Hall Station Hal lettsville. Girls who made dresses will model them. judging covers construction and suitability. The State Dress Revue will follow at College Station during the last week of June at the State 4-H Round Up.

Proschko Sr. Aged Shiner Resident Dies at 86

Frank Proschko Sr. age 86 died May 5 at 11 50 a m at the family home in Shiner. Requiem services May 8 at 9 am at the Catholic Church followed by burial in Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Survived by four daughters and three sons with 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

The 24th District VFW and Ladies Auxiliaries held their encampment in Shiner on May 6 with 250 in attendance. Sessions covered registration, business, and officer elections, while awards and certificates honored multiple posts and individuals. Julius Kutach Dies After Sudden Stroke at 43

Julius A Kutach of Hallettsville died at 3 05 am after a stroke led to complications. He was born September 3 1907, husband of Agnes Strauss and father of nine children. Funeral services were held May 7 at Sts Cyril and Methodius Church in Shiner with a large attendance. He operated a gin and store at Worthing and was active in farming and trucking. He is survived by his wife, children, parents, siblings, and many friends.
