Popular Couple Wed Chovanetz Announces For County Sup't

The Catholic Rectory in Harper Texas joined Edward F Berckenhoff and Kathleen Gooden in a Tuesday April wedding read by Father H Kidhx. Guests included Vivian Gooden and the Berkenhoff brothers. The Gazette congratulates the couple and wishes happiness and prosperity. The issue also promotes Smith Motor Co used cars and announces Charles Chovanetz’s candidacy for Lavaca county County Superintendent with his long teaching record and plans for the schools.

Dentist Weds St. Louis Nurse in Wichita Falls Ceremony

Well known dentist Dr. E A Brosch, son of Mr and Mrs A F Brosch of Shiner, wed Miss Bettie Geiser of St. Louis at Sacred Heart Church Wichita Falls. The 6 30 am ceremony on Monday April 28 was officiated by Rev Patrick O Bierne amid family and friends. The groom a Shiner High '23 and St Louis University Dental '27 grad, practiced in Yoakum before joining Dr J W Powers in Wichita Falls. He now serves on the Wichita Falls Dental Association staff. Mrs Brosch is a St Louis Mullanphy School of Nursing '29 graduate. Spring flowers adorned the church.

San Antonio Hosts South Texas Press Association Session

The third annual South Texas Press Association meeting in San Antonio April 25 26 drew 165 members the largest regional press group worldwide. Events included meals hosted by Central Power and Light Co Fiesta Association and the Chamber of Commerce with Gov. Dan Moody delivering the annual address and a 65 piece band providing music. Members enjoyed lavish hospitality at the St Anthony Hotel with papers providing badges and city access across venues.

Miss Bertha Geiser of St. Louis served as maid of honor in an orchid gown, carrying yellow roses beside the bride in orchid crepe. Best man was Mr. Victor Pastilsek for Dr. Brosch.
