The local Methodist Church finished a week of uplifting services Sunday night led by Rev. G T Gibbons with help from Rev. R K Heacock of Yorktown. Heacock played clarinet and sang gospel numbers. Mrs. Wendtland aided musically. New members include Mrs. Ernest Hajek Mae Rogge Benno Holchak and Peck Welhausen. baptisms for Brooksie Maxine McHlroy Earline Eugene Kach and Dennis Baca. letters received for W L Fox and daughter Eleanor and before the meeting Mrs Geo Turk Jr and Mrs E H Dreyer joined by letter.

A Splendid Play by Charlottenburg Dramatic Club
The Charlottenburg Dramatic Club staged An Old Fashioned Mother at City Auditorium on Tuesday night. A. and E. Tampke received praise for directing and leading roles, with Mrs. Tampke especially lauded for a tearful title performance. Cast members Hulda and Melinda Fiedler, Adela and Leona Svoboda, Mrs. Mary Fikac, Edgar Breitkrentz, Frank Svoboda, August Neubaur, Elroy Ebel, and Martin Fiedler were noted as solid. Audience appreciation was high in Shiner, and Miss Aline Zappe emerged as a standout for a flawless negro sheik impersonation and sensational encore performances.

William Taylor Bagby dies after a Houston hospital illness. A longtime lawyer and former Texas legislator known as the voice of the administration, Bagby is survived by wife Eugenia Long Bagby, daughter Mrs Sam Devall, two grandsons, five sisters, and a brother.
