Half Moon Locals Bring News From Around Town

Half Moon locals report on social events and comings and goings. John Krueger of Shiner and John Luedecke of Half Moon traveled to Sweet er os Senny on business. A dance by Mr. Joe Blaschick is set for Saturday May 4 inviting all to attend. Community members attended dances in Shiner Park last Saturday. Mr. Kurt Pfuhl joined as Gazette subscriber this week. Local ads discuss buying in Krauskopf versus Sears Roebuck and Montgomery Ward. Joe Blaschick improved his property with a windmill and cistern. Crop reports note good corn but poor cotton. Richard Pfuhl bought a new horse. horse trading is active. Henry Luedecke visited Oak Grove last Friday. Fred Burjes and family journeyed from Belle to see kin. Chas Mladenka and Ed Mladenka were seen about town. Many attended a ball in Moulton last Saturday and enjoyed a royal time. Ernst Spies and family from Bresen visited over Sunday. May Wenske visited Green's school Sunday with friends, with R Heinrich of Oak Grove and Terzie and Emma Breitschoff joining for a pleasant listen to Victor. Good night to all.

Flood Update Notes River Rise and Receding Waters

Saturday and Sunday saw a rise in the Guadalupe River with higher water levels and rising flows. Officials report the water has since fallen as conditions ease.

Rain-fueled update from Mustang Creek area reports soaked ground delaying plowing yet farmers hopeful. Cotton replanted though full crop prospects remain uncertain while corn looks strong.
