Marriage of Elton Hauschild and Miss Ethel Leazer

Elton Hauschild and Miss Ethel Leazer were united in marriage at the local Lutheran Church Saturday at 6 p.m. Rev. Schuetze performed the ceremony. The bride wore peach chiffon and pink rose bouquet. Attendants Dollie Marie Leazer and Mildred Hauschild wore rust silk. they were escorted by Guy Leazer and Woodrow Burkett. The couple will reside in the city as the groom works on the highway.

School Board Sets April Dedication Dates for New Building

Mr Wyatt the construction supervisor told the Board of Education the new building will be finished by April 10. The board schedules two dedication programs for Friday night April 14 and a big dance on Saturday April 29 at the new Gymnasium Auditorium. Joe Stanton will provide music. the project is a modern substantial asset to the school and community. Details appear next week.

Death of Mrs. John Ritz in Lavaca County

Mrs Emma Ritz nee Kubena died at 45 years in Dickson community after long illness. Funeral services were held at Eschenburg Parlor and local Catholic Church with Rt Rev Msgr Netardus celebrant. Shiner enters the Gulf Coast Baseball League with a strong lineup featuring Turk and Valek catching Turek Baker Jaehne pitching Garbade Marcak Fischner Jowers and others.
