Carl Schaefer hosted a tacky Saturday night celebration for his senior class at sister Mrs Edgar Wolters home. The informal party featured fun games, plentiful refreshments, and a promised full class prophecy next week.
J M Canon asks residents to report that he is busy taking the school census. Office of the City Secretary invites timely cooperation before the March deadline. Call at the city office to arrange your submission.
Selma Thekla Krause, beloved daughter of Mr and Mrs Emil Krause, died at home in Kitippa on March 16 1924 after an infection from a pinprick pimple. She was nearly fifteen, with promise in music and letters, and her funeral drew many mourners. Survived by parents, two half sisters Emma and Minnie Muecke, and three half brothers Eddie, Chas, and Rudolf Muecke. Relatives from nearby attended including Mr and Mrsnie Wendel and daughter Annie, Frank Kloesel, John Kloesel Sr, Adolf Kloesel, Thekla, and E Muecke. Sympathy extended to the family.
A notice reports two mules missing from the Horse and Mule Barn. One black horse mule about eight years old and 14 hands high. A striped colored mare mule, three years old and about 13 and a half hands high. Owners may claim by Paul Barber.
The Gazette presents J. J. Olsen of Yoakum as a candidate for County Commissioner. He has served Yoakum as city and street commissioner, alderman, mayor pro tem, and as Fire Department chief, gaining local recognition in Shiner. He states his aim is to win and serve the precinct faithfully, having subscribed to Ehiner Gazette to stay informed.
A. J. Kallas urges voters in Precinct 3-7 not to vote for him as county school trustee and endorses Alois Markovsky in his place, signing respectfully.

Miss Hattie Burger of the Schulenburg Sticker called at our office Saturday afternoon. She is familiar with all features of the newspaper service after five years with the Sticker. While in Shiner she was the guest of Mrs. Frank Stack Jr.

The Kolar Stanek American Legion Post held a Wednesday gathering with 54 members, urging all ex-service men to attend meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 PM at City Hall. Arthur Kaspar, manager of Kaspar Wire Basket Works, returns home from a tour of the magic valley. He first introduced Shiner factory products there and found ready sales. He visited towns in the valley, including Brownsville, crossing the International bridge into Matamoras, Mexico.
Father Paul Kaspar and contractor B J Bordonsky visited the Gazette office last Thursday. Rev Kaspar said he was glad to receive the Gazette, and Bordonsky is working on the new Parish House at Plum.
Miss Thelma Long of our city and Miss Johnnye Ponton of Shiner are guests of the house party of their friend and school mate Miss Norine McCreary at Gatesville for the week.
R. J. Strauss went to Yoa kum for a few hours last week and left his tonsils behind. Dr Kopecky performed the removal.
