About ninety Legionaires gathered at American Legion Park Sunday at 5 PM to bid farewell to Commander Meyer who leaves July 1 for El Campo after ten years leading the post. A barbecue supper was served and a traveling bag was presented as thanks by Benno Holchak. State leaders Dr Dunning Dr Rochelle and Attorney Tom Wallace praised his service and urged continued cooperation in state and local Legion activities. The Dreyer 4 H Club met at Mrs Ladewig s home on June 11 1929 for prayers pledge and a brief business session planning a July 9 meeting at Mrs Franke s home. Members learned three quickbreads three vegetable preparations and tomato canning with Miss Wines filming chickens and a group photo. They hope to attend the Luling short course June 26 to 28 and look forward to more enjoyable gatherings.
