Monsignor Netardus was honored on his birthday and feast day at Parisa Hall where the K Z T Society hosted a supper of barbecued chicken. Patek Band played and speakers from Taylor and the society offered felicitations. Friends praised his decades of service in the Master's vineyard and wished him long health and contentment.

Remembering Lukas Zapalac A longtime Mt Olive resident dies

Lukas Zapalac, 65, a well known Mt Olive resident, died Sunday night from a hemorrhage. Funeral services were held Monday at 9 a.m. at the Catholic Church with Rt Rev Monsignor officiating. Survivors include his wife Mary Peter, two daughters Mary and Annie Zbranek, four sons Willie Charles Ludwig Joe, four grandchildren, and his brother Joe Zapalac. He was described as a devoted Christian and civic leader with wide esteem from the community.

Death of John Kocurek Near Town at 58

John Kocurek aged 58 years 9 months 24 days died Monday at 7 am about six miles north west of town. Requiem Mass held Tuesday at 9 30 in the local Catholic Church by Rev Bily. Morisak Obituary of Veronica Morisak in Gonzales area

Veronica Morisak age 58 died at home in Hillside Community near Hochheim Texas on Saturday June 21 1941. She married Anton Morisak in 1907 in Shiner and later moved to Gonzales area with her family. Negro confesses to wounding self after wife murder near Yoakum

Luther Johnson, a Negro inmate in the county jail, admitted to officers that after killing his wife at her father Williams's home near Yoakum he cut his neck and arms. He waived examining trial and awaits grand jury action in the fall term of district court.
