Attention Farmers Urged to Exhibit at the Fair
Farmers are urged to contribute exhibits to the agricultural fair. Bring hogs cattle horses chickens ducks turkeys cotton corn garden products fruits flowers and any farming or garden items. School representation is encouraged and a parade runs on the first two days at 10 oclock each morning.
Twentieth Century Club Social at Mrs Fuller’s Home
Mrs A L Fuller hosted a Twenty Century Club afternoon at Mrs Elo Wolters residence with guests from Austin and San Antonio. Activities included a picture puzzle won by Mrs C C Amsler, a word contest won by Miss Mae Hughs, and prizes to Mesdames Alfred Schramm and Hugh Koether, followed by refreshments. The next meeting is set for June 21 with Mrs H H Hepler.

Wedding at the bride's home of Walter Ehlers and Isabella Effenberger
Walter Ehlers and Isabella Effenberger wed at the bride's home last Tuesday at 11:00 am with only relatives present. The bride is the daughter of Frank Effenberger of Yoakum and the groom is a Yoakum State Bank employee. After a wedding dinner the couple traveled to Flatonia for a rail honeymoon and will reside in Yoakum in a prepared bungalow. The ceremony was performed by Father Weof.

Shiner Fair pantry exhibits entry dates announced
A notice states pantry exhibits will be received by a committee at Bluecher Park on Saturday June 28 and Monday June 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. Pastries and butter may be entered Tuesday not later than 5 p.m. Everyone is urged to contribute to this department to help make the Shiner Fair an ongoing success.

The Civic League designates Thursday and Friday June 14 and 15 as special clean-up days. Trash wagons will pick up on the West side early June 14 and the East side on June 15. Residents should have trash in cans or tubs ready.
