Pfenninger Rites Mark 53 Years in Lutheran Ministry
Pastor Pfenninger died after a heart attack at age 78 following a long 53 year ministry with United Dr. Martin Luther Church. He married Elise Wagner in 1911 and leaves a wife, three daughters, six grandchildren, and four sisters and one brother. He served Shiner and other parishes across the synod and concluded his ministry with Ascension Day services on May 23.

Last Rites Held For Mrs. Louise Eggert
Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Eggert 82 of Seguin were held at Goetz Memorial Chapel with Rev. Theodore Janssen officiating. Burial was in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. She died May 31 in Seguin hospital. Survived by husband Richard, three sons Edgar Oscar Theodore, a daughter Lydia, a brother Eddie Windel, three sisters, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers named. Additional attendees noted from Shiner and El Campo relatives. Louisiana is divided into parishes instead of counties.

A five week summer swimming program runs June 17 to July 19 at Sulphur Park Pool between Shiger and Moulton.
