Lightning Hits Barn Near Town Causing Big Loss
A barn belonging to Joe Hranetsixy was struck by lightning during a storm seven miles away, catching fire and destroying the structure and contents including feed, harness, and bales. Loss estimated around 3000 dollars with no insurance. A heavy five eighths inch rain fell earlier, aiding crops.

Death of Louis Fink Sr Brewmaster at Shiner Brewery
Louis Fink Sr a long time brew master for Lone Star and later head of the Shiner brewery died last Thursday in Yoakum Texas after months of illness. He was 56 and had served as brewmaster at Shiner since April 15 during Mr Spoetzl's absence in Europe. His body was sent to San Antonio for funeral services.
