Six O'Clock Dinner for Playmates at Miss Koch's
Miss Anna Koch hosted a 6 P M dinner Friday for her nephews playmates. Guests included Augusta Birkmann Louise Thulemeyer Lila Plagemann Edgar Birkman and Francis Ted Koch. Each child received a secret and a dime, then headed to the Gem Theatre. The Dr M Luther Frauenverein will hold an ice cream picnic on Sunday June 10 at the church grounds with refreshments and entertainment.

Ten Day Protracted Meeting Opens in Shiner Baptist Church
A ten day protracted meeting starts Sunday night in Shiner at the Baptist Church. Rev. Jake Burkett of North Park Baptist Church Abiline will preach and give lectures on the Holy Land. Services begin next Sunday night with Rev. Jeffrey preaching at 8 30 P M. Burkett arrives Monday and continues for ten days. No Sunday morning service due to Rev. Jeffrey preaching in Moulton.

A large crowd lined the streets as the Registration Parade started at the Ford service station at 10 am led by Uncle Sam on horseback.
