Twelve cars of Shiner fair boosters arrived in Cuero Texas this morning. Led by T J Ponton the party with a brass band met Cuero business men at Main and Esplanade. Ponton urged Cuero citizens to visit Shiner for the full fair. They departed about 11 for Yorktown.
Miss Minnie Deutsch charmingly hosted last Friday night with progressive hearts in honor of her cousin Miss Q Camilla Hoffman of New Braunfels. Six tables were set, Miss Hoffman won high score, Miss Moschel received consolation. Cream and cake refreshments greeted guests and thanks were offered for the Deutsches hospitality.
John Anton Flessner died at his son Henry Flessner’s home on Tuesday May 30 at age 83. The funeral was held Wednesday evening at 4 o’clock p m with burial in the O D H S cemetery. Rev Wm Dziewas conducted the services.

A large crowd watched the Fats versus Leans game Friday evening. The Fats led with five runs but the Leans rallied and the contest ended in a tie. A second game is planned as S008.
The Woodmen held the unveiling of the monument to the late Sovereign Har Wry last Sunday. H Paulus Esq delivered the address, which was considered very appropriate.
Edy R Kane commissioner of agriculture and assistant organizer of Farmers Institutes will hold a meeting in Shiner on Monday June 12. All farmers are urged to be present.
Pythian Sisters will hold their annual officer election next Tuesday at 4 p m and hear the Dallas representative report. A full attendance is desired.
