Paulus for County Judge in Lavaca County

In this week's Gazette the regular announcement column carries Henry S. Paulus for the office of County Judge of Lavaca County. Paulus is known in Lavaca County for his work as city attorney of Hallettsville and was named presidential elector at the San Antonio state convention. He is a young man with extensive experience and pledges full time to the duties if elected. He is a Democrat and anti prohibitionist, announcing subject to the July Democratic primaries and asking support from his friends.

Burgess Speech At Fairgrounds To Address Voters

Earliest Bale of 1916 Cotton Arrives in Houston

The first bale of the 1916 cotton season, the earliest on record, arrived in Houston Friday night from Lyford. Grown by R F Deyo, it weighs about 600 pounds and was consigned to William D Cleveland & Sons to be auctioned at 11 AM Saturday on the Houston Cotton Exchange floor.
