Hallettsville First Bale of 1934 Cotton Arrives
The first 1934 cotton bale reached Hallettsville on Thursday. It weighed 600 pounds and was classed middling, produced by Augusta Vornsand from the old Kinkler Moravia section. The producer earned a $25 premium from the Hallettsville Trades Day association. Last year the first bale arrived July 10.

Austin July 30 The sale of 32 beer is prohibited on election days in Texas from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The law applies to hotels cafes and other places.
