Twentieth Century Club Hosts July Meeting and Musicals
Mrs. H A Woods hosted the Twentieth Century Club on July 14 with help from her sisters Mrs. Wheeler and Miss Burns of Flatonia. The evening featured a varied musical program including piano solos, violin and piano duets, vocal numbers, and an encore. Afterward guests enjoyed a moonlit lawn gathering, a spelling contest with Mrs. Joe Hughes winning a Persian silk handbag, and refreshments of cream and cake. Participants included Dr. and Mrs. Nave, Dr. and Mrs. Ledbetter, Earl Fry and others, with Mr. Sam Schwartz serving as schoolmaster during the spelling game.
