First Bale Of Cotton At Nordheim 1948
The first bale of the 1948 season was brought to Nordheim on July 7. It weighed 543 pounds and sold for 40 cents per pound, marking DeWitt County’s first bale of the season. The 1947 first bale arrived July 19.

Funeral services for Pvt George L. Pustejovsky will be held Monday July 19 at 9 o clock from the family residence and at Shiner Catholic Church for a Requiem High Mass. Baby Mary Eicher Placed At Rest
The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Eicher died at the local hospital Sunday evening. Born July 9, she weighed six pounds six ounces and was their first child. Funeral services were held from Eschenburg Funeral Parlor to St Cyril and Methodius Church with burial in Catholic Cemetery.
