Lutheran Camp Site Dedication Sunday July 13
The 25 acre Evangelical Lutheran Synod camp near La Grange Texas and Louisiana will be blessed Sunday July 13 with a 5:00 p.m. service led by Rev J M Schedler of Trinity Victoria followed by a 5:30 p.m. fellowship barbecue. More than twelve hundred tickets were issued for this event including sixty two from the Shiner Dreyer Lutheran Parish. Proceeds aim to clear the remaining 10000 debt with congregations contributing about two dollars per member.

Joe Marcak Jr. 21 and his brother Benjamin 14 drowned July 4 while swimming near West Plains Missouri. The brothers were sons of Joe Marcak who moved from Deming New Mexico to Missouri three years ago. Funeral services were attended by Ben and Bill Marcak and Mr and Mrs Ad Pesek.

Adolph Zander final rites held in Shiner
Adolph Zander 74 died Friday July 2 at local hospital after six weeks illness traced to a 1953 stroke. Born October 15 1879 near Schulenburg he lived in Shiner area most his life. Survivors include two daughters two sisters three brothers and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held July 4 at Buffington Funeral Home and United Dr Martin Luther Church with interment in Shiner.
