State Catholic Societies Convene in Shiner Next Tuesday
The State convention of Catholic societies meets in Shiner next Tuesday with Father Kasper as ritualist. At 8 AM the Bishop arrives and is escorted to the church, with welcomes from Father Wolf, Father Kasper, and Mayor Runk. Dinner at Bluecher Park at noon, Bohemian Dramatic Club performance at Opera House, and a park dance in the evening.

Shiner Fair Opens As Crowd Enjoys First Day Events
A large crowd attended the Shiner Fair opening with a lively display and carnival company on site. A band performed and daily ball games continue. Cornelson will play for dances Thursday and Saturday. On Wednesday Shiner beat Gonzales 2 to 1 led by Henry Baumgartner with two hits.

Shiner Fair Draws 22 000 to Parade and Town Attracts Visitors
About 22 000 people filled Shiner early Wednesday as crowds poured in from miles around. The parade featured decorated autos and trucks with Koar Stanek Post American Legion leading a large camouflage battleship, Camp Fire Girls, A M College students in uniform, and many festive floats from local businesses and organizations. Weather was ideal and attendance across the four days exceeded expectations with dozens of floats showcasing community groups, flowers, and patriotic themes.
