A local advertisement touts Pittsburgh Perfect as the best galvanized steel wire field fence. It claims electric resistance welded construction with guaranteed perfect rods and uniform stays, highlighting moisture resistance and rust prevention.
Mr F Konecny paid taxes in Gonzales County and found the court favorable. Ir B W Fehrenkamp owns farm property at Dryer for wagon and smith shops of F Jans A Shiner. Trade details noted from last Monday and comments compare tax levels to Iewnca County.
The Census Bureau reports 9,955,427 bales of cotton ginned in 1907 up to January 1, with last year at 9,725,406 and 9,955,427 bootstrapped to 741,039 in 1907. Round bales counted as half bales.

Mr R L Brothers, a Gonzales County businessman, and Alma Koker were married at 7 pm Tuesday at the bride’s parents’ home about 12 miles east of Gonzales. Rev J B Anderson officiated. The couple left for Yokum then New Orleans and Crescents City. They plan to reside in Gonzales County after ten days.
John Machae a Bohemian farmer living on the Dickey place about six miles east of here hanged himself to a tree limb in his yard early this morning. An inquest by Justice of the Peace Peterson found no stated motive though the family says he had been acting strangely and was thought mentally unbalanced.
A man found hanging from a tree this morning is described as a 45 year old farmer. Police say the act occurred during early hours and that two other alleged victims were killed in a similar fashion. Authorities investigate possible linkage to the same perpetrator.
Twentieth Century Club met at Mrs. Joe Hughes residence last Thursday. Officers elected: Mrs. Nave president, Miss Lizzie Kyle vice president, Mrs. Secretary, Mrs. H Woods assistant secretary, Miss Bertha fund. Plans to use club funds to buy books and invite nonmembers to join library fund. Membership fee set at one dollar annually. Next meeting at Mrs. Welhausen January 16 at 3 p.m. New German History book to be studied. Members asked to submit one book idea for library to committee Fry, Bertha, Tommie Thornton. All urged to attend for book order.
The Local Teachers' Institute held a four day meeting starting January 4 at a private home. Attendees included Muiraf Smith, Misses Berta Thornton Sophie Amsler Lizzie Kyle. They decided to meet monthly until a new school closes to finish Psychology studies and continue discussions with visiting teachers invited.

The Hallettsville County Commissioners in special session voted to publish a county wide letter detailing the main features of the full rendition law. They will seek a full property rendition under the law and pledge to reduce the general tax rate to cover only essential county expenses, excluding road and bridge funding. The court appointed Charles Strauss of Shiner to fill the unexpired term of F A Worthing after resigning.
