Brothers Kokernot wedding near Gonzales

Mr R L Brothers, a Gonzales County businessman, and Alma Koker were married at 7 pm Tuesday at the bride’s parents’ home about 12 miles east of Gonzales. Rev J B Anderson officiated. The couple left for Yokum then New Orleans and Crescents City. They plan to reside in Gonzales County after ten days.

Farmer Hangs Self Near Halletsville Texas

John Machae a Bohemian farmer living on the Dickey place about six miles east of here hanged himself to a tree limb in his yard early this morning. An inquest by Justice of the Peace Peterson found no stated motive though the family says he had been acting strangely and was thought mentally unbalanced.

Notable Killing Reported Near Rural Farm

A man found hanging from a tree this morning is described as a 45 year old farmer. Police say the act occurred during early hours and that two other alleged victims were killed in a similar fashion. Authorities investigate possible linkage to the same perpetrator.

Century Club Formulates Library Plan and Elections

Twentieth Century Club met at Mrs. Joe Hughes residence last Thursday. Officers elected: Mrs. Nave president, Miss Lizzie Kyle vice president, Mrs. Secretary, Mrs. H Woods assistant secretary, Miss Bertha fund. Plans to use club funds to buy books and invite nonmembers to join library fund. Membership fee set at one dollar annually. County to publish letter on full rendition law in Hallettsville

The Hallettsville County Commissioners in special session voted to publish a county wide letter detailing the main features of the full rendition law.
