Supersonic B 58 Missions Around Little Rock Area

General Dynamics B 58 Hustler bombers of the 43rd Bombardment Wing based at Little Rock AFB Arkansas will fly supersonic missions in a 20 mile corridor from January 11 to 15 and periodically through April 1 1965. Flights occur in two daily slots near 12 30 p m and 1 30 p m over Paducah and Shiner Texas with overflight of Austin Texas times listed in Central Standard. Missions may be cancelled on short notice due to unforeseen requirements.

Howard G. Hall of the Internal Revenue Service in Victoria Texas urges taxpayers to file or amend their fourth quarter 1964 estimated tax declarations by January 15 1965. Amended declarations should be marked amended and filed with the original district director. An amended form is printed on the back of the payment due notice. If liable for the 1040ES for 1964 first time in Q4 you must file by January 15. If amending or filing for the first time you may delay payment if you file the final return and pay owed by February 1 1965. Local IRS offices can answer questions by telephone.

Hospital Board Elects Officers for 1965

The Frank M. Wagner Hospital Foundation elected officers for the year starting March 1 1965. George Watzlavick was reelected president Glade Welhausen was reelected vice president and August H Maneth was reelected secretary. Three directors were reelected to three year terms starting March 1 1965 August H Maneth Felix Hubner and George Watzlavick. The foundation is a non profit chartered hospital and is governed by a board that meets monthly without salary.

Funeral Services Held Friday For Willie Boehm

Funeral services for William Willie Boehm 77 were held at Buffington Funeral Home Shiner at 8 30 a m and a Requiem High Mass followed at Sts Cyril and Methodius Church. Rev Alphonse Padalecki officiated with graveside rites at Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers included Boehm relatives and local mourners. Boehm died January 6 1965 in Frank Wagner Memorial Hospital after a ten day illness. He was born November 14 1887 in Prada Fayette County Texas and survived by a son a daughter two brothers and two sisters plus his wife Julia who died in 1950.

George E. Vrazel rites held in San Antonio

George E. Vrazel 65 of 123 Rayton San Antonio died in a Laredo hospital Friday January 8 1965. Services were at Homer McClaughterty Funeral Home January 11 and Requiem Mass at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. He worked as a musical instrument repairman for C Bruno and Son Inc and lived in San Antonio 18 years. Survivors include his wife four sons two daughters two brothers two sisters and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents a sister and three brothers.

Charles Jiral of Yoakum died at home Tuesday January 5 1965 at 63.9. Interment was in St Ann's Cemetery after a Requiem Mass at St. Ann's Church. He operated a Yoakum pool hall and was survived by a wife Mary and a large family including Frankie Joe Jiral and several daughters and siblings.

Mrs. Henry Schacherl age 65 died January 3 1965 after illness in Frank Wagner Memorial Hospital. Requiem Mass held January 9 at Shiner Catholic Church with Rosary at Buffington Funeral Home. Interment Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Survived by husband Henry a sister and three brothers.

Lavaca County Cotton Farmers Meet in Shiner

About 200 Lavaca County cotton farmers attended an educational meeting at Hermann Sons Hall in Shiner on January 7. Extension Service experts discussed weed and insect control, chemical use, bed spacing, row alignment, stripper machinery, and farm safety with local agents to receive updated insect guides. Donations for hall use came from First National Bank of Shiner Farmers Cooperative Esse Cotton Company and Jimmie Buske.
