Official statement shows assets and liabilities of Lavaca County bank with totals 9590.86 dollars. Key items include loans 61041.83, due from other banks 23789.08, cash items 495.63, specie 210.65, and deposits 42768.52. Presidents Wolters and Runk certify truth of the figures sworn January 7 1915.
The Twentieth Century Club re elected officers led by President Mrs Adolph Richter and vice presidents Miss Mae Hughs and Mrs Edgar Wolters with pro tem Miss Callie Valenta as secretary and Miss Maude Dunn as assistant secretary. A lecture by Dr L W Payne Jr from the State University is set for January 19. The meeting included Mrs Wendtland Jr guiding a program on Sidney Lanier with readings and round table topics on Lanier's fame and works.
The Commercial Club of Shiner voted to stage a fair June 14 15 16 and 17. A guarantee fund over 2800 was pledged to finance the fair and a fair association was formed to manage it. Citizens express enthusiasm and urge action to boost Shiner’s profile.
A surprise wedding took place Monday January 10 at the Catholic church in Praha as Mr. F. F. Koneeny wed Mrs Antonia Firasek with Rev. Father Netardus officiating. Attendant from Shiner was Mr. W. Paul. The couple returned to Shiner yesterday. the groom owns a fine home. The Gazette extends congratulations.
The Shiner Gazette notes the Pathé production NEAL OF THE NAVY stars Lillian Lorraine and William Courtleigh Jr in a 14 episode serial. Viewers are invited to read the story in the Gazette and then see the pictures at the Gem Theater.

Dr. L. W. Payne presents a Southern Humor lecture at the Opera House on January 19 at 7 45 PM. Admission is 10 cents for school children and 25 cents for adults.
A protracted meeting will commence next Saturday night at the Baptist church. The Church of Christ will conduct the event with Rev. White in charge and delivering the preaching. Everyone is invited to attend.
Saturday night at 7 45 Rev. Dallas Williams will preach and also Sunday morning at 11 o clock. The public is cordially invited.
Ben H Janssen of Shiner Texas offers a 80 horsepower Studebaker Roadster in good running order in exchange for a gentle horse. All persons owing city tax are urged to call and settle at once. If not paid by February 1 the penalty will be added.
