Impressive Last Rites For Devoted Couple Dusek
Frank A. Dusek and Marie L Wagner were laid to rest in Shiner after a long marriage begun in 1908. The couple raised three children and shared 54 years on a farm in Lavaca County. Both were active Catholics with community ties and family survivors include two children, five grandchildren, and siblings.
Streng a long-time Temple lumber executive noted for service
Latane Temple praises Streng for his people oriented approach as manager of the Temple yard. A native of Muenster Texas he started with Temple Lumber in 1939. He is active in the Businessmen's Club of Shiner the Shiner Chamber of Commerce Knights of Columbus Texas Farm Bureau and the PTC. He and his wife Henrietta have two children. Temple Lumber operates 34 retail yards across Texas. Scotch Investment Company develops Emerald Cove a 22 acre bayfront site in Corpus Christi.

SHS Bookfair March 5 7 by Student Council
The Shiner High School Student Council will sponsor a bookfair in the high school library from March 5 to March 7 during school hours. About 250 paperback books across 29 classifications will be on display and sold at regular paperback prices. On Thursday night March 7 the fair will stay open 6 30 to 8 30 for open house attendees to browse and buy.

Pfuhl Rites Held in Shiner Cemetery Service
Funeral services for Friedrich Richard Pfuhl were held at the Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner with Rev. Edwin J. Oehlke officiating. Burial followed in Shiner City Cemetery. Pfuhl, born July 14 1877 in Leipzig, Germany, settled in Lavaca County after immigrating in 1890. He was married to Mary Huseman in 1908 and survived by wife, three sons, two daughters, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He farmed most his life and lived in Shiner since 1954 except for 1925 1936 in Orange Grove.

Obituary: Longtime Lutheran Parishioner Passes at 85
The deceased, long in good health most of life, died February 22 after hospitalization transfers from Frank Wagner Memorial to De Tar Memorial in Victoria. He was 85 years seven months eight days old and survived by four children, with both parents and two brothers previously deceased.
Obituary: Mrs. Joseph Koncaba Dies at 74 in Shiner
Mrs. Joseph Frank Koncaba of Shiner died suddenly February 18 1963 at 5 20 p.m. at age 74 years seven months and 27 days. She is survived by two daughters Mrs Mary Berckenhoff and Mrs Ernest Baker, two grandchildren and other relatives. Her service was at Buffington Chapel February 19 and Saint Cyril and Methodius Church in Shiner with Father Hanacek officiating. Interment followed in Shiner Catholic Cemetery. She was a longtime parishioner of the Shiner Catholic Church and mother of the late Joseph Koncaba.
