Funeral February 18 at 2 PM at Buffington Funeral Home Shiner with Rev Charles Ferrell of Shiner Baptist Church officiating. Burial in Shiner City Cemetery. Survived by Fritz Sander husband one son Cecil Kiekel Gorin Missouri and three grandchildren.

Birthday celebration honors TLH Ladies Aid honorees
The Ladies Aid of United Dr. Martin Luther Church in Shiner hosted a February birthday party at Trinity Lutheran Home on February 15. Honorees Emma Kloesel Otto Sander and Louise Bonarden were pictured with TLH members Hilda Hagendorf Elvera Jaks and Hilda Nollkamper. The program included readings songs and German pieces with Velma Gehrels at the piano. A farewell was given to Mrs. Virgie Balusek soon to become TLH administrator in Flatonia. Lunch followed and the March party will be hosted by the KJZT of Shiner.

Herbert Holchak Dies Suddenly At Home Friday
Herbert Cyril Holchak of Shiner died suddenly at his Kokernot area home on Friday February 16 1973 after a possible heart attack. He was 79 and was a retired Southern Pacific Railroad telegrapher and Kerrville mayor with long civic ties. The funeral was held at the Episcopal Church in Gonzales.

Eagle Scout Duff Wagner of Shiner presented the annual Boy Scouts of Texas report to Governor Dolph Briscoe in the Texas State Capitol with 4500 Scouts participating in a parade marking the 63rd Scout birthday.
