The body of Bessie A. Koehl arrives in Shiner for graveside services at 2:00 p.m. in Shiner City Cemetery. Rev. Albert R. Peterson presides. Koehl, born August 2, 1889, in Ellinger, Texas, died January 27, 1963 in San Antonio. She lived in San Antonio and had ties to Fayetteville and Comfort. Survivors include two nephews J. W. Appert and Perry Appert and other relatives. pallbearers from Kenedy and Shiner attend. The Southside Funeral Home, San Antonio, assisted by Buffington Funeral Home, Shiner.

John R Bennett died in a San Angelo Hospital after a period of illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 3:00 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church at Fort Stockton. He was a frequent visitor at his daughter Mrs G G Griffin's home, who rushed to San Angelo with her husband upon learning of his illness. Attendants from Shiner included Mr and Mrs Glade Welhausen Miss Gayle Welhausen and Mrs Wilbur Mi near.

Rites Held Feb 2 For Former Pastor Rev Alfred Bohot
Funeral services for Rev. Alfred Bohot longtime organizer of the Missouri Lutheran Church in Texas were held February 2 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church Schulenburg burial followed at Schulenburg City Cemetery. Bohot born August 27 1879 in Klipphausen Germany died January 30 1963 aged 83. He and family immigrated to America in 1889 and settled in Warda later serving Texas parishes until retiring in 1937 with later part time work in Shiner and Hallettsville.

Impressive Rites Held Monday For Edmund Schmidt
Edmund Karl Schmidt died at 66 after emphysema and pneumonia. Funeral services were held Monday at United Dr. Martin Luther Church in Shiner with pastor Rev. Edwin J. Oehlke officiating. Burial followed in Shiner City Cemetery. pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were local men.

Electric Shock Fatal for Mike Benes Jr in Shiner
Mike Benes Jr. age 46 6 29 died of an electrical shock at 12 17 p.m. February 4 1963 at Frank Wagner Memorial Hospital. He fell 18 feet from a pole after contact with a 2400 volt line near the LCRA substation west of Shiner. Funeral with military rites set February 6 at 2 p.m. United Dr. Martin Luther Church. Survivors include wife Georgie two sons Mike Ray III and Larry Gene five others. Funeral arrangements incomplete at press time for full obituary next week.

Four Deaths In Rev Peterson Family In January
Four relatives of Rev Albert R Peterson died in January bringing sorrow to the Methodist parsonage. Mrs Adolf Peterson of Lexington died January 16 while a cousin Mrs Ernest Hornung of Monthalia, and cousins Chas Muenzler of Three Rivers and C L Lukas of Kerrville also passed away. The community extends prayers and sympathy to the Peterson family.
