Local notes detail weather damage and community visits

A heavy Thursday rain damaged rent houses on R G Dryer and E Pohler properties while one remained unoccupied. Several residents including G Gerdes, Herman and Ernest Boyson, and Adolph Krause appear in town on various business trips and returns. Rilert Gerdes Sr. suffered a hand injury from logging accident. The W O W held a meeting on December 16 to elect officers.

Christmas greetings from Scurry County visitors

Henry Mueller formerly of Dryer now in Scurry County arrived Sunday to visit friends. A. H. Neighbors W.S. Moore and Miss Nellie Neighbors, away at college, will return for Christmas. Say Pocahontas of Sweet Hop what will old Santy bring you for Christmas. Dinner is on the table as I bid you all a bright and happy Christmas.
